Established in 2009 by Kevin Mulroy, a former publisher at the National Geographic Society who has held senior editorial positions at Penguin USA and the Quarto Group, Potomac Global Media is a Washington, D.C.-based book packager and content developer with a focus on illustrated nonfiction for adults and kids. We are most active in the categories of family reference, history, health and nutrition, science, and photography. A full-service editorial production and custom publishing company, we also offer project management, concept development, and representation services. Our titles have sold millions of copies, and our creative team of writers, editors, designers, and illustrators have produced bestselling books for clients including Smithsonian Institution, National Geographic Society, Scholastic, Inc., the Library of Congress, and many independent publishers.

Editor-in-Chief Barbara Brownell Grogan is former editor-in-chief for National Geographic Books where she was responsible for producing illustrated history, science, travel, and photography books. She has written, edited, and produced articles and books for children and adults, and for publishers including Time-Life, Quarto, Sterling, and Everyday Health. A certified health coach, she is author for books on health and natural healing, including 500 Time-Tested Home Remedies and the Science Behind Them (2013), Healing Herbs (2018), and CBD Handbook (2019).

Creative Director Carol Farrar Norton has been designing high end illustrated books from concept to print for over 25 years for clients like National Geographic Society and Scholastic, Inc. Before that, she designed corporate reports for clients like Royal Caribbean, Inc. and the Coca-Cola Company. She also loves designing CD packaging for local musicians.
