Give Me Shelter explores the American frontier of our cultural imagination, juxtaposing J. M. Felson’s contemporary photographs of what remains of the traditions and myths we associate with the Wild West with haunting images taken by Gifford McGinty, a personal chronicle of his experience serving as a U.S. Marine in the Vietnam War.
